Technical Manager - Tankers

Faststream Recruitment is recruiting for a leading US vessel owner to recruit an experienced Technical Manager for its tanker fleet.

Based in South Florida, this is a senior shoreside role with responsibility for vessel performance, maintenance, dry dockings and technical budgets. You will also provide leadership and support to Technical Superintendents across the fleet.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Tanker Superintendent ready to step into management, or an established Technical Manager looking to join a major US vessel owner.

The Role You will:

• Oversee the technical condition, reliability and performance of assigned tankers.
• Lead and support Technical Superintendents.
• Manage vessel OPEX, maintenance and repair budgets.
• Oversee drydockings, shipyard periods and major technical projects.
• Monitor planned maintenance, machinery performance and vessel condition.
• Work closely with Masters, Chief Engineers, Operations and HSSEQ teams.
• Manage relationships with shipyards, contractors and technical suppliers.
• Ensure vessels remain compliant with class, flag, USCG and company requirements.
• Conduct vessel visits and attend shipyards as required.

What We're Looking For You should bring:

• Senior shore based, relevant marine engineering or vessel technical management experience.
• Strong tanker experience.
• Experience as a Technical Superintendent, Fleet Superintendent, Technical Manager or similar.
• Good knowledge of vessel maintenance, dry dockings and major repairs.
• Experience managing technical budgets and expenditure.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• US Citizenship or US Green Card holder (no sponsorship available).

A Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture or maritime academy background and/or senior engineering license would be advantageous.
