Faststream Recruitment is partnering with an established shipping organisation to appoint an experienced Head of Fleet – Tankers based in Singapore.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for an accomplished tanker technical professional to oversee multiple fleet management teams, drive technical and operational excellence, and play a key role in shaping fleet performance across a diverse tanker portfolio.

The successful candidate will bring a strong engineering and technical foundation, extensive experience managing tanker fleets within a third-party ship management environment, and the leadership capability to manage senior fleet professionals and complex stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide strategic and operational leadership across multiple tanker fleet management teams.
• Lead, mentor and develop senior fleet management professionals, ensuring consistent technical and operational standards.
• Oversee fleet technical performance, planned maintenance, dry-docking, vessel reliability and cost optimisation.
• Drive continuous improvement in vessel performance, technical governance, safety and regulatory compliance.
• Manage relationships with shipowners, commercial stakeholders and other key partners, ensuring high standards of service delivery.
• Support fleet performance strategies, operational efficiency and long-term technical excellence.

Requirements

• Strong marine engineering background with extensive shore-based technical management experience.
• Proven leadership experience overseeing a sizeable tanker fleet within a third-party ship management organisation.
• Broad exposure to tanker operations, ideally across crude, product, chemical and/or gas carriers.
• In-depth understanding of vessel maintenance, dry-docking, technical reliability and fleet performance.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and develop senior technical and fleet management teams.
• Strong commercial awareness, stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate demanding shipowner expectations.
• Strategic mindset combined with the technical depth and hands-on operational understanding required to lead complex fleet operations.
