HGV Class 1 Recovery Driver

Ambitions Personnel are recruiting on behalf of our client for an experienced HGV Class 1 Recovery Driver to join their established recovery team.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in heavy vehicle recovery who enjoys a varied role and is confident working in challenging situations. No two days are the same, and you'll be part of a professional team providing recovery services for commercial vehicles.

The Role

Your duties will include:

• Recovering HGVs, trucks and buses from roadside locations and accident scenes.
• Attending road traffic collisions (RTCs) and breakdowns.
• Carrying out heavy vehicle winching and recovery operations.
• Loading, transporting and recovering commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Completing vehicle checks and ensuring recovery equipment is maintained.
• Delivering a high level of customer service while working professionally in often time-sensitive situations.
• Adhering to all health and safety procedures and industry regulations.

What We're Looking For

• Valid Class 1 (Category C+E) licence.
• Previous experience in heavy recovery is essential.
• Experience recovering HGVs, trucks, buses and other commercial vehicles.
• Confident carrying out winching and recovery operations.
• Experience attending roadside breakdowns and RTCs.
• A calm, professional approach under pressure.
• Strong awareness of health and safety.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to be on call.

Hours

• Friday to Monday
• 8:00am – 6:00pm

In addition, you will be on call for the first three nights of your working week, receiving a £50 retainer per night, plus any additional payments applicable for call-outs.
