Chemical Tanker Operations & Demurrage Specialist

Are you an experienced Chemical Tanker Operator with strong expertise in demurrage and post-fixture operations?

We're partnering with a global petrochemical trading company to recruit a Chemical Tanker Operations & Demurrage Specialist based in Singapore. This is an excellent opportunity to join a global trading environment where you'll take ownership of end-to-end tanker operations while managing laytime calculations, demurrage claims, and voyage execution across Asia.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end post-fixture operations for bulk chemical tanker shipments.
• Review SOFs, NORs and laytime documentation.
• Prepare and negotiate demurrage and despatch claims.
• Coordinate with shipowners, charterers, agents and surveyors to ensure smooth voyage execution.
• Partner closely with the trading team to minimise operational risks and protect commercial margins.

Requirements

• 5+ years' experience in Chemical tanker operations or post-fixture operations. *Experience in clean petroleum/product tanker operations will also be considered
• Proven experience handling demurrage claims independently.
• Strong understanding of charter parties, laytime and demurrage.
• Confident liaising with owners, charterers and external stakeholders in a fast-paced commercial environment.
