VNA Driver - Stock Checker / Warehouse Operator
Location: Kettering
Pay Rate: £17.14 per hour (£35,650 per annum equivalent)
Contract Type: Agency Contract – Ongoing
Shift: 22:00 – 06:00, Sunday to Thursday
About the Company
Our client is a leading railway infrastructure company dedicated to delivering excellence within the rail industry. They are seeking an experienced VNA Driver / Warehouse Operator to join their team on an ongoing agency contract.
The successful candidate will play a vital role in maintaining accurate inventory levels through stock checks, stock counting, and warehouse inventory management, while supporting wider warehouse operations using VNA equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Stock Control & Inventory
- Conduct regular stock checks and counts throughout the warehouse.
- Accurately reconcile physical stock with warehouse management system records.
- Investigate and report any stock discrepancies or inventory variances promptly.
- Ensure stock locations are correctly identified and well maintained.
- Utilise handheld scanners or mobile devices to record stock movements and inventory data.
- Support cycle counting and other inventory control activities as required.
- Maintain a high standard of accuracy when handling and recording stock.
VNA Operations
- Operate Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) equipment safely to access and retrieve stock from racking.
- Move, locate, and position materials efficiently and safely within the warehouse.
- Adhere to all site procedures and Safe Systems of Work when operating mechanical handling equipment (MHE).
- Ensure stock is stored appropriately and warehouse locations remain organised.
Warehouse Operations
- Assist with picking, put-away, replenishment, packing, and general warehouse duties.
- Handle materials with care to prevent damage.
- Support loading, unloading, and movement of materials as required.
- Maintain accurate records within the warehouse management system.
Housekeeping & Health and Safety
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Comply with all company health and safety policies and warehouse regulations.
- Report damaged stock, equipment faults, or safety concerns promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider warehouse team to ensure operational efficiency.
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience operating VNA equipment is essential.
- Valid VNA forklift truck licence/certification is required.
- Experience in stock checking, stock counting, or inventory control is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy.
- Confidence using handheld scanners and warehouse management systems.
- Good hand, eye, and foot coordination when operating MHE.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and capable of working independently.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work permanent night shifts effectively.
